Mini Green Power’s first Power+ Generator® will be Commissioned this Spring
CO2 neutral Renewable Power on demand from Biomass Gasification
ElectraTherm, a leader in distributed waste heat to power generation, has partnered with Mini Green Power (MGP) in France to combine its heat to power technology with MGP’s biomass gasification and controls expertise. ElectraTherm’s Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) unit will generate CO2 neutral Renewable power from the syngas combustion heat on a Gazeogen© mini-power plant system in France and is scheduled for commissioning this spring.
ElectraTherm utilizes ORC and proprietary technologies to generate power from low and medium temperature heat streams. The high pressure refrigerant evaporated with heat from MGP’s boiler, expands through ElectraTherm’s patented twin screw power block, spinning an electric generator to produce kilowatts. After turning the expander, the vapor is condensed back into a liquid using cold water from a liquid loop radiator.
The Power+ Generator will produce carbon-free power from 110°C water provided by MGP’s gasification and boiler system to generate up to 65kW. Mini Green Power’s feedstock is green waste and wood residue with up to 55% moisture, a range of biomass with a moisture level never before achieved in the market which unlocks new market segments for biomass based power at competitive prices vs natural gas.
“There’s a noticeable shift from large scale fossil fuels to localized energy generation methods, and Mini Green Power is at the forefront of this movement,” said Jean Riondel,
President of Mini Green Power. “Our partnership with ElectraTherm, a leader in small-scale ORC generation, demonstrates our commitment to the development of optimized and reliable energy solutions and innovation that will make circular economy a reality for small towns and industries.”
ElectraTherm’s Power+ Generators utilize waste heat on applications such as internal combustion engines, biomass boilers, incinerators, geothermal and also flare to power methane utilization at wastewater treatment plants and oil & gas fields. ElectraTherm’s Power+ fleet of 60+ global installations has exceeded 820,000 hours of run time. A list of reference sites is currently available on the website.

About Mini Green Power
Created in June 2014, Mini Green Power builds high tech mini power plants turning green waste and discarded wood-products into electricity and heat. This clean technology uses local biomass resources to generate energy for local needs. To learn more, visit www.minigreenpower.com. Mini Green Power is currently working on a biomass / ORC + solar offgrid island-mode solution to be able to energize isolated areas. First commercial applications on this system are expected in early 2019.
